FAITHFULNESS

We all can look back and see how life has been a roller coaster of some sorts. This afternoon God said to me that the natural reaction of human beings to roller coasters that are bumpy and very unpredictable is for us to jump ship, get off and get out, to ditch that friend, get out of the relationship or marriage.

The Bible says when Jesus returns he will be searching for faith among men… and the Bible asks “will he find
Faith among men? It is not the faith that moves mountains that Jesus would be looking for, it is the Faith of Faithfulness. Sometimes the greatest act of faith we show God is the faith that stays. The faith that stays as a Christian, the faith that stays as a wife, as a husband, as a sister, as a brother, as a helper as a helpmate/help-meet.

I agree sometimes we have to leave, but truly that needs to happens very fewer times than staying. The story of those who stayed have been better testimony to Christianitythan the story of those who left.

Imagine the faith it took for Ruth to stay. She was not staying for a husband; Naomi was not going to make a baby that would grow fast enough before she clocked menopause. She had an inexplicable faith and that made her the grandmother of King David and hence the great grandmother of King Jesus.

It takes more faith to be faithful to your spouse. To love and cherish, to honor till death do you part takes more faith than it takes to raise the dead. We can pray for the sick outside but have no faith for healing for a sick spouse. We cast out demons from people at church but curse our spouses for their anger and tantrums. It really takes more faith
to be faithful.  The faithlessness of our acts is the reason behind the pain in the house of God. People who have stabbed me in the back and insulted me need me to have faith in Jesus, so they can be forgiven. Now I understand why Jesus said father forgive them for they know not what they have done.

In the Lord’s prayer we pray forgive us our sins as we forgive those that sin against is… It takes faith to forgive, knowing that we in turn are forgiven for showing forgiveness. So literally, those who have a problem forgiving do not have enough faith that they would in turn be forgiven if they forgave.

This season Jesus brings joy. May we show Him Faith in return. May we find joy and peace in the faith and faithfulness of fellow Christians. May you not lack friends and family because they had enough faith to stay Above all, may you be someone’s angel because you had enough strength to stay and enough Faith to be Faithful

Fast, cheap and good — from these three things you should always choose two. If it’s fast and cheap, it will never be good. If it’s cheap and good, it will never work out quickly. And if it is good and fast, it will never come cheap. But remember: of the three you still have to always choose two.
